The effect of scanner light on objects has always struck me as being like that of old master paintings, many of which probably involved a lens to achieve realism. (http://www.koopfilms.com/hockney/articles.html)
This and a visit to see a retrospective of Hans Bellmer’s work formed the idea for this set.
